Each plot is 300 m2 and has a building allowance of 200m2. If required, larger land plots are available for sale in this same location.
The plot is inside the village of Horafakia, a small traditional village on the Akrotiri peninsula. A few cafes, taverns and mini markets are located only 200m from the plot. A full range of amenities including large supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, bakeries and retail stores are found in Kounoupidiana, just 5 minutes away by car.
The village of Horafakia: Horafakia is a small, quiet village on the peninsular of Akrotiri, situated halfway between Kalathas and Tersanas villages, 15kms northeast of the historic city of Chania. Due to its elevated location it offers outstanding sea views across the Bay of Chania and Mountain views. The village is only 15 mins from the international airport and less than half an hour from the port of Souda. The area is an ideal place to relax and unwind, and has numerous shops, mini markets, tavernas and school, all within walking distance. Additional shopping and general amenities such as large supermarkets, banks, post office, travel agency etc, are available in Kounoupidiana, just five minutes away by car. The beautiful sandy beaches of Kalathas and Tersanas are only a minute drive from Horafakia village.
The area of Akrotiri: The Akrotiri Peninsula features some of the most beautiful and clean sandy beaches of Chania offering water sports activities, including well-known Stavros, where Zorbas the Greek was filmed, Kalathas and Tersanas beaches, all on the north coast. Kalathas beach is a beautiful sandy beach lined with pine trees and a small islet at swimming distance and features cafes and traditional tavernas. Tersanas is another fine sandy beach with shallow waters suitable for children.
The popular sandy beaches of Marathi and Loutraki are on the south shores of Akrotiri and boast some of the best and most popular fish restaurants in Chania, plus also breathtaking views of the White Mountains. Because they are located in the Bay of Souda, they are almost always protected from the winds.
A variety of wild birds and turtles find haven in this peaceful area which is so diverse, offering endless possibilities to the visitor, from birdwatching, horseriding, hiking or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. There are also several churches and historically significant monasteries in the area such as the impressive Agia Triada and Moni Gouvernetou built in the 16th century, a visit to which is highly recommended.
