NON EU BUYING PROCESS
Non EU citizens have to apply to the Greek Ministry of Defence requesting clearance to purchase a specific property. The clearance is not general, in the sense that it does not cover any property but it is granted only in relation to a specific property. The procedure for the clearance is typical rather than substantial but it takes a long time for the application to be examined (usually 9-12 months). The necessary papers are the following:
1) Birth certificates from the competent national authorities 2) Police clearance certificate or any other similar document issued by a national authority proving that the person has no criminal record 3) Short C.V. 4) Authorised copies of passports 5) Purpose of the purchase (i.e. investment or otherwise) 6) Topographical diagram of the property in 4 copies
All these have to be translated into Greek and submitted to the Greek Ministry of Defence.
